ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
MITCH ROSS was a champion junior surfer who made a name for himself on the World Qualifying Series among heroes like Taj, Mick and Bede. He moved on to create a solid career for himself as the international team manager for the Hurley Championship Tour athletes and has worked with the likes of World Champs Carissa Moore and John John Florence. Rossie continues to be a pivotal influence in professional surfing, and still surfs with incredible ability. Rossie has all the insights into how to work towards being a sponsored athlete. He Currently scouts, signs and nurtures talent for Hurley.
VAUGHAN BLAKEY has been the editor of Surfing World Magazine for ten years. Blakey started his mag career at Tracks as a teenager, where he worked with some of the industry’s most iconic surf writers and photographers, before moving onto Waves and then Surfing World. He has spoken to probably every surfer, photographer and writer in the biz. He’s seen it all, talked to them all and written about it. He’s been part of some people’s entire surf careers and could potentially be part of yours.
LULU WILKINSON has been working as a content specialist for the past 20 years. She’s run live newsrooms, created social strategies and content plans for some of the biggest companies in Australia (including Optus, the Suncorp group, Lendlease and Petbarn) and worked as an editor and contributor on all number of magazines and online titles. She loves the rapid pace and reactive nature of online and social media and during her tenure as head of digital at Endemol (the largest independent TV production company in Australia), she was responsible for the digital executions of shows like Married at First Sight, Big Brother and Offspring. She’s handled more than a few trolls and crises in her time!
NICK CARROLL has been surfing since he was as old as you and together with his World Champion brother Tom, and a couple of mates, he formed a club that went on to grow and become one of the best surfing clubs in Australia – Newport Plus. Nick is an internationally renowned surf journalist who also has his finger on the pulse of swell. He watches the maps constantly and if there’s something brewing, he knows about it. He’s seen and surfed most surf breaks in Australia and many around the globe. He knows waves and he wants to teach you.
